In front of a national television audience on Fox-TV, the White Sox put on a ready for primetime display of power and defense and beat the Reds 5-0
The star of the show was league leading hitter Tim Anderson who hit two home runs. The league leading hitter did an interview with the TV announcers during the game, and made fun of Reds pitcher Trevor Bauer.

In the eighth inning the Sox got back-to-back-to-back homers from Anderson, Yasmani Grandal and Jose Abreu.
It’s only the second time in franchise history the Sox have done it twice in one season.
Can’t keep up. Abreu makes it three straight four baggers. https://t.co/fKxNSfwzGp pic.twitter.com/dvxvVgSU3i

The Sox six-hit shoutout was constructed by five different pitchers starting with Dallas Kuechel who struck out seven over his four complete innings. He did walk four which led to his high pitch count (75).
Manager Rick Renteria went to the bullpen and got two hitless innings from Matt Foster who got the win (5-0). Codi Heuer pitched a hitless inning and then Jimmy Cordero and Jace Fry each allowed hits in their lone inning of work.
The only bad news was another poor outing by Luis Robert. Before the game, social media was buzzing with the news of his prolonged slump.
A couple of award cases have been really hurt over the last couple weeks

Luis Robert last 15 G:
.111/.197/.167, 1 XBH
Fernando Tatis Jr last 9 G:
.065/.143/.065, 0 XBH
Usually in a full season guys can overcome that, but 15 G is 1/4 of the season
That motivated Steve Stone to tweet the following.
Let’s answer any questions about Luis Robert. Baseball in the Majors is very difficult. The league has adjusted to Luis and now he has to readjust to the league. He’s pressing. He’s not used to failing and it causes stress. He’s quite talented. He’ll overcome this and be better

Robert will eventually breakthrough, but right now his confidence is shot as he meekly swung at breaking pitches away. The rookie just can’t lay off of them right now.
The White Sox will throw Dylan Cease on Sunday afternoon. Cease has not won a start since September. 3, but he also hasn’t lost a start since Aug. 23. Michael Lorenzen goes for the Reds. This past Tuesday, Lorenzen had his first start since 2018 and pitched well. He gave up just one earned run on four hits and no walks with six strikeouts over five innings.
