Every year before the start of the season Ryan Pace meets the media and puts on a happy and optimistic face for the cameras.
“Every year we have championship expectations and this [year] is no different.”
Ryan Pace
But, the smile seems more worn. The cliches more hollow. And, the confidence on the part of fans and sports pundits who have backed him in the past is wavering.
I've generally backed Ryan Pace as #Bears GM, but this offseason was frustrating.

– Overpaid for Foles over better/cheaper QBs
– Overpaid aging Jimmy Graham
– Drafted need over value in Kmet
– Ignored OL
If he lets Allen Robinson walk, that might be the worst move of them all.
Jerry Angelo put FAR MORE TALENT on the Bears roster than Ryan Pace and made less mistakes and was still shown the door because he was inept @ finding a QB! Pace better make the playoffs this season or he will suffer the same fate @ seasons end.

Ryan Pace is a liar trying to make his bad pick look like a winner. Why did ‘itch wait until@now to practice and work on his form and take his job seriously? And as soon as Trubisky gets any pressure, he will panic and lose 15 yards. Is this a joke?

The speculation on Pace’s future at Halas Hall will fill social media to the max Sunday afternoon if the Bears fail to win their opener at a vacant Ford Field.
Especially if Mitch Trubisky, Ryan Pace’s biggest player acquisition investment during his tenure, plays poorly.
But, one thing Pace has going for him is that he’s constructed one of the NFL’s better defenses and if they can play at the level they did in 2019 then even mediocre quarterback might earn them a playoff berth.
All the talk – and rightfully so – is about the #Bears quarterback but a year removed from the hype, Ryan Pace has "championship expectations." He's clearly pinning that hope on his defense and Mitch Trubisky's "difference presence."https://t.co/AD31zSj5Ki

The Lions have lost all four games to the Bears during the Matt Nagy era. If the Bears fail to make it five in a role, it may be a sign that we’ll never again witness another Ryan Pace “all is good” press conference.
